Today, August 24, officials of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Kenya, found a female soldier dead in one of the toilets in the airport premises.
The female soldier had reportedly shot herself in the head. The discovery led to total chaos at the popular east African airport.
According to a Kenyan website, the female whose name was not given had locked herself up in one of the toilets of the Kenya Airport Police Unit offices at the Terminal 1 section of the airport, before shooting herself in the head.
The Kenyan police is yet to release an official statement on the incident, there are however unconfirmed reports that say the officer had been under too much stress. “The incident was a stress-motivated suicide,” the report said.
Meanwhile, the office of a local governor in Turkey stated that more than 50 people were died on Saturday, August 20 when a suspected suicide bomber detonated his explosives among people who have a good time on the street at a marriage ceremony in the southern Turkish city of Gaziantep.
While reacting to the occurrence, Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said it was probably the Islamic State militants who carried out the late-night attack, the deadliest bombing in Turkey in 2016.
